The Department's mission
is to provide high level of education to its students in the field of
Food Technology which is the field of Technology, where biological, physical,
chemical and engineering sciences are used to study the nature of foods,
the causes which make them to spoil and the principles of their processing,
preservation, storage and distribution. Thus, the food produced to be
safe, wholesome, nutritious and organoleptically acceptable by the consumer.
The main objective of the Department is to provide the best in teaching
to its graduates in order to be able to find career placements at the
various sectors of greek economy which deal with food commodities. Besides,
to promote scientific knowledge concerning Food Science and Technology
through scientific research carried out by its academic staff.
